The wildflowers were just starting to bloom
Being out under the Milky Way, as the remains of Mount St. Helens looms before you is quite the experience.
This image required 5 frames to stack focus to get the image sharp front to back, each at a whopping 2 minutes per exposure to get allow enough light to hit the image sensor to have some decent shadow detail. Once the stacks were done, I lowered my shutter speed to 11″ and cranked my ISO to 6400 and waited for the Milky Way to align for this composition (using Photo Pills)
