Probably my favorite image of 2019, Ghost Ship was a chance moment that I probably couldn’t do again if I tried. I had been out shooting Milky Way around the Peter Iredale Wreckage, slowly being pushed back by the incoming tide, when a misty haze began to fill the air and bring a lot of atmosphere into the scene.
What I hadn’t known was just south was a beach that people could drive on and their headlights began to light up the incoming mist around the wreckage. I really didn’t pay any mind to this exposure, as I was shooting for Milky Way. But when I got back in the lab, I fell in love with it and how spooky it is!
