A magical snow capped scene in the depths of The Giff, this image was made during an early spring snowfall prior to the COVID-19 lock down, and feels like a moment frozen in time. As my buddy John Perach and I made it up the creek, the muffled sound of snowfall was drown out by the roar of the falls as got close.
Large fallen trees crisscrossed the creek creating a multitude of strong leading lines, but this particular composition caught my eye. I was really drawn to the framing of the rocks that helps to create a little mystery in the background, while bringing interest to the foreground with the frozen fern.Â
