I imagine a more intelligent and empathetic people who inhabit these Floating Isles, who observe the mainland with disbelief that people could create each other in such ways.
This image is one of my favorites of 2019, captured on my birthday while on a solo run through Samuel H. Boardman. After meeting up with my bud Nick Page in Bandon for a sunrise and breakfast, I headed south and was treated to intense fog intermittently swallowing Highway 101.
When I got down to the cove, it was completely socked in with this glow-y light while a gnarly foam from a previous storm swirled below. I decided to work with those conditions and combined a 10 stop ND filter with a circular polarizer to slow down my shutter enough to smooth it out and help create a floating and airy feeling.
