The raging waters of Abiqua Falls are a sight to see, barreling over the edge of those basalt cliffs. The flow as particularly heavy on this spring afternoon, and it soaked me and my buddy Josh Paris (www.chasingdragons.co) to the bone.
I had really been into panos when we went out here and I spent most of my time futzing with that. By the time Josh got everything he came for and was freezing cold, I I had only captured 2 comps and started this third one here, which of course was my favorite of the trip. So he gave me the nod and I banged this image out (thanks Josh!)
I’m really drawn to the composition of this image and how the boulder and waterfall balance out, while giving each other room to breath in the frame. I like how the boulder seems to be just hanging out and enjoying the view! Normally the waterline is way lover than this, it really helped to have such a high flow!
